Brumolin Ultra Rat Bait
For use against brown rats in and around buildings.
Product advantages:
- Pre-portioned bait bags
- Highly attractive and ready to use
- Contains a proven active ingredient
- Includes the bittering agent Bitrex
Brumolin Ultra Rat Bait is highly effective in stopping rat infestations in various areas of buildings such as the cellar, laundry room, and attic, as well as in the vicinity of buildings. The product provides long-lasting and reliable results. The ready-to-use bait contains the active ingredient coumatetralyl, which is an anticoagulant (blood clotting inhibitor). Rats consume the bait over several days as part of their food intake, resulting in a lethal effect without displaying signs of pain due to internal bleeding. The time span between bait consumption and successful treatment depends on the amount of bait ingested, helping to build trust with the rats during bait uptake.
Application: Use 200g (equivalent to 20 sachets) per baiting point. If multiple baiting points are required, place bait boxes at a distance of at least 5-20m apart. Do not open or remove the paper bags containing the individual portions. Only use concealed and tamper-resistant bait stations for bait placement. Do not clean bait stations between applications. Install bait stations in areas protected from flooding and severe weather conditions. Replace any bait that has been damaged by water or contaminated with dirt in the stations. It is important to avoid direct contact with dead rodents as they may carry diseases.
Active ingredient: Coumatetralyl 27 mg/kg (0.0027%)

General Safety Precautions:
Before use, read and follow all product information and any instructions provided at the time of purchase. Avoid unnecessary contact with the product. Misuse may cause health hazards. Keep out of reach of children. Keep away from food, beverages, and animal feed. Place bait in locations inaccessible to children and restrict access for domestic and wild animals as much as possible. The product is hazardous to wildlife and contains a bittering agent and a dye to prevent accidental ingestion by non-target animals. Do not use the product as a permanent bait (e.g., to prevent rodent infestations or monitor rodent activity).
Preparation:
-
Non-chemical Control Measures: Consider non-chemical methods (e.g., traps) for rodent control before using rodenticides. Traps are especially preferable for controlling mice, voles, and isolated rats. Bioides should be the last resort, used only when necessary and minimally.
-
Identify Rodent Habitats: Before baiting, identify preferred rodent locations (e.g., pathways, nesting sites, feeding areas) in and around buildings by observing gnawing or droppings, or using non-toxic bait (e.g., oats). Remove any non-toxic bait remnants before starting actual baiting.
-
Minimize Disturbance: Avoid cleaning infestation areas at the start of the campaign, as this may disturb rodents and reduce bait acceptance unless cleaning is absolutely necessary. Remove easily accessible food sources like spilled grain or food waste.
-
Inform Stakeholders: Before baiting, inform all users of the premises and surrounding areas about the poisoning risk to humans and animals, as well as steps to take in case of poisoning, bait spillage, or finding dead rodents (refer to packaging for more details).
Implementation and Accompanying Measures:
- Use the biocide only in and around buildings. Do not apply it in gardens or away from buildings.
- Do not use bait to prevent infestations or monitor rodent presence.
- Use tamper-resistant bait stations (e.g., Protect Home Rat Bait Box). Secure bait in stations where possible to prevent rodents from carrying it away.
- Place bait stations strategically near rodent pathways, nests, feeding areas, holes, or burrows. Ensure bait stations are inaccessible to children, birds, pets, livestock, and non-target animals.
- Secure bait stations to the ground or structures if possible. Prevent access to bait stations by domestic and wild animals.
- Avoid contact of bait stations with food, drinks, animal feed, kitchen utensils, or preparation surfaces.
- Do not place bait stations near water drainage systems where they might contact water.
- Wash hands and exposed skin immediately after use.
Monitoring:
- Check bait stations 5–7 days after initial setup, then weekly to ensure bait consumption and station integrity. Replace consumed bait and search for dead rodents in the area to prevent secondary poisoning of domestic and wild animals.
- Dispose of dead rodents in plastic bags via household waste or animal carcass disposal services. Avoid direct contact.
- If rodents continue consuming bait after 35 days without a reduction in activity, consult a professional pest controller. Notify the product registration holder in case of product ineffectiveness.
Termination of Control Measures:
- End the baiting campaign when bait is no longer consumed. Remove all baits, bait stations, and dead rodents from the site.
- Wear suitable protective gloves to avoid skin contact with bait remnants. Dispose of bait according to the "Waste Disposal" section. Reusable bait stations may be used again.
Post-Control Inspections and Prevention:
To avoid reinfestation, take preventative measures:
- Remove or secure food and water sources (e.g., food, animal feed, compost, garbage).
- Eliminate rodent hiding places, such as trash, debris, and clutter.
- Remove vegetation near buildings where possible.
- Seal or block access points to interior areas (e.g., cracks, holes, cat doors, drains).
Storage:
Store the product in a cool, dry, and dark location, away from food and animal feed. Ensure it is inaccessible to children, birds, pets, and livestock. Always store in the original packaging.
Waste Disposal:
- Collect unused bait after the campaign (wear gloves) and dispose of it per regional requirements. Avoid skin contact during disposal.
- Do not dispose of product residues in household waste. Deliver them in their original packaging to hazardous waste collection points. Consult local or regional authorities for further guidance.
- Recyclable packaging should be added to the recycling system. Do not reuse the packaging. Prevent product residues or packaging from entering water bodies.
Liability Disclaimer:
No liability is assumed for consequences of improper use.
First Aid Measures:
This product contains an anticoagulant (blood-thinning agent). Anticoagulants have delayed effects, working 4–10 days after ingestion. Symptoms may include delayed nosebleeds, gum bleeding, bruising, or blood in stool or urine.
- Skin Contact: Wash immediately with water, then with soap and water.
- Eye Contact: Rinse thoroughly with water for at least 10 minutes with eyelids open.
- Ingestion: Rinse the mouth thoroughly. Do not induce vomiting. Do not give anything orally to unconscious individuals. Seek immediate medical advice and show the packaging or label.
- Pet Ingestion: Consult a veterinarian immediately.
