General Safety Guidelines:
Before use, read and follow all product information and any instructions provided during purchase. Avoid unnecessary contact with the product. Misuse can lead to health risks. Keep out of reach of children. Store away from food, beverages, and animal feed. Place bait stations in areas inaccessible to children, birds, pets, livestock, and other non-target organisms. The biocidal product is hazardous to wildlife. Do not use as a permanent bait (e.g., for preventing rodent infestations or detecting rodent activity).
Preparation:
- Non-Chemical Methods: Before using rodenticides, consider non-chemical pest control methods, such as traps. For controlling mice, voles, and sporadic rat infestations, traps are preferable. The use of biocides should be the last resort and minimized.
- Baiting Locations: Identify preferred rodent locations (paths, nests, feeding sites) inside and around buildings using signs like gnaw marks or droppings. Pre-bait with non-toxic bait (e.g., oats) and remove remnants before actual baiting.
- Avoid Disturbance: Avoid cleaning infested areas initially to prevent disturbing rodents, unless necessary. Remove easily accessible food sources.
- Inform Stakeholders: Inform all users of the premises and surrounding areas about the poisoning risk to humans and animals, and the steps to take in case of poisoning, bait spills, or finding dead rodents.
Execution and Accompanying Measures:
- Use the biocide only in and around buildings. Do not use in gardens or far from buildings. Avoid using it as a permanent bait.
- Employ tamper-resistant bait stations. Secure the bait inside stations to prevent rodents from moving it. Unprotected bait poses a high poisoning risk.
- Position bait stations near rodent pathways, nests, feeding spots, and burrows. Do not place bait directly into the soil. Secure bait stations to surfaces when possible.
- Avoid contact of bait stations or the product with food, drink, or preparation areas.
- Do not place bait stations near drainage systems where they may contact water.
- Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking during use. Wash hands and skin immediately after contact.
Monitoring:
Inspect bait sites after 5-7 days initially, then weekly. Replace consumed bait and search for dead rodents to prevent secondary poisoning of pets and wildlife. Dispose of dead rodents in sealed plastic bags via household waste or animal carcass disposal facilities. Avoid direct contact. If rodent activity persists for over a month, consult a professional pest controller. Notify the product manufacturer if ineffective.
Ending the Control Process:
End treatment when bait is no longer consumed. Remove all bait and dead rodents. Use protective gloves and avoid skin contact when handling remnants. Dispose of bait according to waste disposal instructions. Undamaged bait stations can be reused.
Post-Control Monitoring and Prevention:
To prevent re-infestation, remove accessible food and water sources (e.g., food, feed, compost, garbage). Eliminate rodent shelters like debris and waste. Remove vegetation near buildings. Seal access points (e.g., gaps, holes, drain openings).
Storage:
Store the product in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, protected from light, away from food and feed, and out of reach of children and pets. Keep in the original packaging.
Waste Disposal:
Collect and dispose of unused bait according to local regulations. Avoid skin contact when handling remnants; gloves are recommended. Do not dispose of product remnants in household waste. Deliver leftovers to hazardous waste collection sites. Empty packaging should go to recycling. Do not allow product residues or containers to enter water bodies. Do not reuse the packaging.
First Aid Measures:
This product contains an anticoagulant active ingredient with delayed action (4–10 days post-ingestion). Symptoms may include nosebleeds, gum bleeding, bruising, or blood in stool/urine.
